Laurie Calderwood
Deaconess, Secretary
 


Laurie became a member of NMBC in 2007.  She and her husband, Ron,  moved up to the northwest over 18 years ago, leaving most of their family and their entire church family behind.  She says "It took us quite awhile, but, when we walked into NMBC one Sunday morning, I felt "home".  This is definitely a "family".  As I get to know more and more people who attend, I feel that I just keep adding to my family."
 
Ron and Laurie will be celebrating their 40th Anniversary soon. They have 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren.  Two of their grandchildren are beautiful teenage girls and the other two are lively, glorious little boys.  They are quick to say "what a blessing these children are to us!"
 
Laurie loves to  teach children. She says  "Most of my time growing in the Lord has been through the eyes of little children through various ministries.  Now, I have a new ministry as a Deaconess.  I know through this ministry I will grow so much more as I learn how to not only love, but serve those in our church and community.  I truly feel this is a great blessing for me as I strive to do a good job for our gracious Father."
